The Boys & Girls Club of Cypress hosted an week long Spring Break program this year with the theme “Splash into Spring Break.” The program ran from March 14 through 18 and included a wide variety of scientific explorations, fun arts and craft activities such as making “sand dough” and creating sea animals using recycled materials. Members built cardboard boats that held weight in water, did ocean-themed cooking projects, participated in outdoor sports competitions and water relays, built sandcastles, and much more. Fun field trips were taken to the Aquarium of the Pacific John’s Incredible Pizza. Over 100 members enjoyed this year’s program. The members had a special treat on Wednesday when the Cypress High School baseball and football teams came to the club and served an all-you-can-eat BBQ lunch, with grilling duties led by Mr. Charles Williams. The kids loved playing outdoor field games with the high school athletes in between bites of their burgers and hot dogs. On the final day of the club’s week-long program, all club members took a walking field trip to Veteran’s Park for a field day filled with fun outdoor rotations and water games. It was a great way to end a fantastic week at the club. The Boys & Girls Club of Cypress Summer Program begins June 6. Registration has already begun.
