Lawsuits filed over Donald Trump’s “unprecedented constitutional violations”

President Donald Trump is going to be sued by the attorneys general of Maryland and Washington, D.C., over his alleged violations of the emoluments clauses.D.C. Attorney General Karl A. Racine and Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh, both Democrats, are suing Trump on the grounds that he has not effectively separated his private interests from his public interests, according to a report by The Washington Post. In so doing, they accuse Trump of “unprecedented constitutional violations” because, by continuing to run businesses that receive money from both domestic and foreign sources, they have become “deeply enmeshed with a legion of foreign and domestic government actors.”
